Leanne Edwards, Artistic Director

Leanne Edwards earned her Bachelor of Music degree in flute performance from Queen’s University, where she studied with Kingston Symphony Principal Flute, Donelda Gartshore. A passionate and dedicated teacher, Ms Edwards teaches music at Bracebridge and Muskoka Lakes Secondary School, and private flute and piano lessons from her home in Orillia. She has performed with and conducted several community musical groups including: Bracebridge Rotary Musicals, The Elderberries Choir, Muskoka Concert Band, and King Edward Choir, where she sang with her mother and daughter. King Edward Choir welcomed Leanne back as Conductor and Artistic Director in 2020!

Katie Pergau, Accompanist

Katie Pergau is well-known around Barrie as an accompanist, conductor, and musician. She has accompanied and worked with students from the studios of Margot Hamilton, Edwina Douglas, Renée Cingolani as well as others in Ontario. Over the years, Katie has enjoyed performing and travelling with the Peterborough County Children’s Choir, Peterborough Singers, Tapestry Chamber Choir and was member and director of the Bravado! Show Choir for 8 years. She is currently the Organist and Choir Director at Burton Ave United Church and was previously the Executive Director of the Barrie Music Festival Association. Katie is looking forward to this new opportunity to work with the King Edward Choir and to making some beautiful music together!
